Entered into Insights: a juried exhibition, 2013. Insights is presented annually by the Elora Arts Council in association with the Wellington County Museum and Archives. Margaret Peter, B.A., O.S.A., S.C.A., is a Guelph painter and orginal printmaker whose interest in texture is reflected in her floral, landscape, and fossil images. After graduating from Windsor Teachers' College in 1963, she taught school for six years. She completed her bachelor of fine arts degree at the University of Guelph in 1974. She was a member of a co-operative gallery "Chimera" in Salem, Ontario from 1976-1978. She returned to teaching in 1986 and retired in 2000. Margaret has taught printmaking courses across Ontario and was the printmaking instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1988-2006. Margaret is a member of the Guelph Creative Arts Association, the Central Ontario Art Association, Visual Arts Ontario, and is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (1990) and the Ontario Society of Artists (1991). |
