Streetscapes with residential, commercial, religious, and government buildings along Woolwich Street in Guelph, as they appeared ca. 1900 [copy made by Couling], and between ca.1955 and 1982 [slides made by Couling]. People and vehicles also visible in slides. SLIDES 9366 - 9368: - Building at corner of Woolwich St. and Quebec St., as it appeared in 1955 or 1956. Signs visible for "R.L. Craig Flour, Feed, Seeds", and for "Holm Radio Service". Written on card accompanying slides, "Cor Woolwich & Quebec". SLIDES 9369 - 9387: - Three-storey stone building with Mansard roof at 15-19 Woolwich Street, formerly the Priory Hotel, as it appeared ca. 1900 and between 1967-1977. Includes images of its demolition in 1977. Signs visible for Dumont Aluminum, salon de Corso, Hicks-Groom Co. Wholesale Grocers, the Liquor Store [LCBO], Sub Shop, Cottman's service centre, Canadian Pacific Railway Priory Hotel, C&F Young Export, and Firestone [tires]. Written on card accompanying slides, "15-19 Woolwich / dem by Mid January 1977". SLIDES 9388 - 9391: - Brick and stone houses on Woolwich Street at Meldrum Street as they appeared between 1969 and 1973. Written on slide 9389 "37 Woolwich". SLIDES 9392 - 9409: - Speed Skating Rink on Woolwich Street, also used as Canadian Pacific Railroad office, as it appeared between 1967 and 1982. This building was later demolished, and with the creation of the River Run Centre in the 1990s, a sculptural wall was built on the grounds in memory of this rink.
