Howes family, Keeper and Matron of Wellington County House of Industry and Refuge, photographs, ca. 1897-1950. William Blackwell Howes (1882-1963) and his wife Ethel Edith Howes (nee Ammerman, 1892-1973) were Keeper and Matron at the House of Industry / Wellington County Home for the Aged, 1928-1949. Before moving to Aboyne, they farmed near Mount Forest, where their children were born: Warden (1919-1971), John (born date) and Isobel (born date).
