Title |
The Jarett Postage Stamp Album, ca.1962. |
Date |
1851-1867 CIRCA |
Description |
Canadian philatelic stamp album pages, kept together in a black three-ring binder. Title page explains, "The Jarrett Album has interchangeable leaves and opens flat. The use of cellulose acetate leaves makes it possible to mount covers at left and stamps at right, thus giving the album double capacity". Pages list Canadian, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island stamps issued between 1851 and 1962. Each page includes a black and white image of the stamp with description. The stamp collector has adhered some original stamps over their respective black and white pictures. Book contains information about each stamp's issue date, colours used, perforations, etc. Typed note at beginning reads, "Please note: This album contains the latest supplements and illustrated the issues up to and including the 5 cent Trans-Canada Highway issued the 31st of August, 1962". Three Centennial stamps from 1967 have been taped to a page at the front of the book. A blue and white stamp depicting a flag, denomination "10" from the Republic of Korea is adhered to the titlepage. |
