Township of Pilkington, account book. Begins 5 October 1852, listing receipts and payments in pounds sterling. Following pages detail accounts with John Catanach / Cattanach; School Sections #1 - #6, Roman Catholic Separate School. Lists of debtor and creditors, receipts and expenditures continue until 18 March 1876. Each year, the accounts are examined and found correct and the balance in Treasurer's hand noted. At back: Index and pages 1-15 list receipts and expenditures 1869-1870 under headings: "County Treasurer; Councillors; Sundries; Loan; Municipal Officers; Relief; Roads and Bridges; Schools - Legislative and Municipal; Stationary; Printing; S.S. No.2; S.S. No.4; S.S. No.6; Thomas Marshall, collector; William Bye, collector" [John Greene is also listed as a collector]. Accounts change from pounds sterling to dollars 13 March 1869. |
