- ph 4746: Photograph of family members posed outside the brick house of George Chambers located on Young Street at the corner of George Street in Harriston, Ontario, ca. 1915. A hammock has been affixed to the posts of the front porch of the house. Four boys and a small white dog are posed in a child's wagon at left. The lone man in the image, Jim Moore, is standing with arms crossed beside them. Two young boys stand holding the handle of the wagon. Nine women seated and standing together at right. Photograph by M. S. Copeland of Harriston. Affixed to reverse are two pieces of paper offering further details, both written in different 20th-century handwriting. It reads, "In this house on [_?_] street below Meiklejohns / lived Jim and Minnie Moore / as seen in picture / Minnie her hands folded / next to her her sister / who visited -- Mrs Guthrie / then Mrs Clapherlorn[?], her / mother sitting in chair. / In wagon Johnny Moore [corrected 'NO / fair -- second from L'] and Willie Moore -- face / boys & others are cousins / also the twin boys -- I do not recognize the / girls sitting on the grass."
