[ STACKS; AVC15 ] - ph 41205 - ph 41208: Clayton McLellan (Left), his father Archibald McLellan (right), with team of horses in front of their house and barns on the north half of Lot 8, Concession 11, Arthur Township; photograph by Carter & Isaac of Elora; copies include reproduction of photo with mat, without mat showing pencilled number "8381" at bottom, reverse with identification, and detail of makers' label from flap under mat; note: ph 41206 shows sliver of another photograph along left edge of photgraphic paper. - ph 41209 - ph 41211: Isabella and Charles McLellan of Arthur Township near Mount Forest, originally from Scotland, ca. 1860; written at bottome, "Charles & Isabella McLellan, Clayton's Grand Parents"; also included is photograph with detail that was printed on the back of this portrait, and taken around the same time, looking up hill of an Ontario town; it doesn't appear to be Mount Forest; is possibly Durham or other area town; photographer unknown. |
