Fergus, postcard set, ca. 1938-1939. Set of twelve postcards of views around the village of Fergus, Ontario, produced by the Photogelatine Engraving Company of Ottawa ca. 1938-1939. They have yellowed over time, but when new would have appeared black on white paper. Each features a print made from a photograph with a white border inside of which is the title, printed at bottom. Each of the cards has two spots of adhesive on reverse, likely from the postcard collector who gathered them having mounted them in an album. - ph 48418: View looking west down St. Andrew Street West from the intersection of St. David Street. Parked cars on street, buildings with striped awnings along St. Andrew Street, and signs for businesses including Firestone Tires, Ford cars, Fergus Motors, a drug store, and United Cigar Store. Signpost at southeast corner of St. Andrew Street and St. David Street gives milage from that point to Guelph, Hamilton, Arthur, and Owen Sound. Pedestrians at intersection.
