Patrick Martin Kirby (1844-1922) reminiscences, ca. 1905. - item 1: Photocopy of the reminiscences of Patrick Martin Kirby (1844-1922) of Peel Township, written ca. 1905. It is divided into untitled chapters and details Kirby's life from his birth on 08 April 1844 in Cougalah (Westport) Ireland, his early education, voyage to Canada with his family, hardships of settler life in Peel Township, and financial betterment of the family through to the year 1867. He also recalls the construction of a separate school in Peel Township, the death of Abraham Lincoln, leaving Canada for a month during the unrest caused by the Fenian invasion of Fort Erie, returning, and having difficulties at school.
