Letter to Robert Boyd of the Paisley Block, Guelph Township, Wellington County, from his friend and fellow poet Henry Scott Riddell of Scotland re. friendship, poetry, and their mutual friend Thomas Laidlaw; two pages. Robert Boyd was born in Ayrshire, Scotland in 1797, and came to Canada in 1830. He settled in Paisley Block area of Guelph Township, at Lot 14, Concession 3, Division B. He married Betsy Inglis and had three children: Ellen, Margaret, and John. |
