Ellwood Lee Co. Pat'd. Gauze Jar l893 / Antiseptic Dressings". Label on side of container reads "Absorbent Gauze". Contains a roll of a white cotton dressing.

  3. 1996.12.116 - Holder, Match

    A silver matchholder with hinged lid. It is a flat, oval shape with a raised radiating design. On the bottom are incised marks for striking matches. Inside are five wooden matches. "G SILVER" is along the rim. German silver is an alloy metal composed of copper, nickel and zinc.

    Metal spatula used to apply ointments etc. In raised letters on the back "Apply/Antiphlogistine/Warm and Thick". Small pear-shaped glass bottle with silver metal neck and cork stopper. Inside a metal tubae extends from the neck into the liquid. There is still l cm of brown liquid in the bottle. Cork stopper is NOT TIGHT.

    A "Premium Game of Logomathy or War of Words" card game, consisting of the original box cover (.01), the bottom of the box (.02), the instruction sheet (.03) and fifty-seven cards (.04-.060), circa 1918. On the box cover (.01) in dark red and green is the title of the game. The sheet of instructions (.03) was published in London, Ontario. The cards have letters of the alphabet and a picture of a female.

    A sectional "Checkerboard Puzzle" (.03-.017) in its original cardboard box (.01 & .02), dated circa 1880. Includes two pages of instructions (.018 & .019). The cardboard lid (.01) has an advertising gimmick illustration of a man with a headache ("Before") and then happily working ("After"). In black letters is "Why suffer with Headache when relief is so easily obtained?"

    Eight cardboard score cards (.03-.010) for the "Court Whist" card game in a plain white box (.01 & .02), circa 1910. There are four blue cards (.03-.06) and three pink cards (.07-.010). On the back of the last pink card (.010) is written in pencil "al c/15 cents Doz."
