    Nightgown. White cotton. Three button fastening down the front of the nightgown, two button fastening at sleeves. There are a number of embroidery techniques such as satin stitch, blanket stitch, and drawn thread work. The seams are flat-felled and the edge finishin is clean finished. There is a decoration of scalloping and tucks and gathers.

  5. 1984.27.7 - Box

    This is a box made of velvet, wood and metal. It has an oblonged shape. The top of the box has a raised elognated diamond shape with a design of metal in the centre. It fastens at the front with a clasp and is hinged at the back.

  6. 2002.36.1 - Quilt, Autograph Quilt, Signature

    White cotton signature quilt with embroidered names in red. The quilt is dated to 1929. Made up of thirty square blocks arranged five across and six down. Names are grouped in lines of four; four groupings arranged diagonally at each corner and one grouping in the centre; plus the embroiderer's name. Solid white cotton backing. Quilting is done in white thead; criss-crossing diagonal lines creating a pattern of small squares or diamonds.

  7. 2004.47.1 - Quilt, Signature Quilt, Autograph

    A white cotton Signature Quilt dated circa 1946. It has blue embroidered names on the front. Each square has a group of eight names which radiate out from the centre. The names are hand-embroidered and chainstitched in various shades of blue.
