    Cylindrical metal can (.01) with a removable lid (.02) that originally contained tea or coffee. Exterior of can is red in colour with stencilled gold text "J.L. FIELDING & CO., TEA & COFFEE. IMPORTERS, STACE STREET, GUELPH. Interior of can is shiny.

  4. 1975.36.12.03 - Bowl, Sugar Set, Cup and Saucer Cup & Saucer Plate, Tea

    A ceramic tea plate (.02) with matching teacup (.01) and sugar bowl (.03) set. Small delicate teacup of an Oriental shape. It has a gold rim and handle, light blue just under the rim, pink flowers, and black designs underneath that. The inside is all white. The tea plate is very oddly shaped with a raised ridge at one end to hold the cup. There is a gold handle at the end opposite to where the cup sits. There is a picture on the other side. Sm...

  5. 1975.36.2.02 - Tin

    A plain tin and lid. The tin is very smooth with a seam up the side, seamed at the bottom, a very small amount of rust. The inside is discoloured to a yellowish brown and smells strongly of tea. The lid is made from the same material.

  6. 1975.36.3.02 - Package, Product Tin, Biscuit

    A shallow tin biscuit box (.01) with a removable shallow lid (.02) that originally contained soda biscuits. The lid is embossed to read " Christie's Zephyr Cream Sodas". Constructed of thin sheet metal; the two long sides and the bottom are one piece, the two short end pieces are separate.

    A small blue willow bread and butter plate. The design includes a pagoda, three guards crossing the bridge, the boat in the river, the crying willow tree and the two birds at the top.

    A small "blue willow" bread and butter plate. The pattern has pagodas, a lake and an urn at the front plus pagodas in the pattern around the rim.

    A small white bread and butter plate with a pink "plaid" design around the rim. Also on the rim are three areas with green leaves and red flowers. It is a small delicate design.

    A small slender six sided glass saltshaker (.01) and lid (.02). The saltshaker has a silver leaf design painted around the top. The top rim is very rough and jagged. The silver metal lid (.02) has six holes. The lid has a stamped design in a circular pattern with small dots and five ornate petals.

    A small white ceramic bowl with a large pattern of brown and green leaves and blue and pink flowers on one side and a similar though smaller design on the opposite side. There is a raised decoration around the outside rim. Green mark on the bottom.

  12. 2004.47.1 - Quilt, Signature Quilt, Autograph

    A white cotton Signature Quilt dated circa 1946. It has blue embroidered names on the front. Each square has a group of eight names which radiate out from the centre. The names are hand-embroidered and chainstitched in various shades of blue.

    Blue and white machine-pieced Signature Quilt hand-embroidered in blue with members of the Teviotdale Women's Institute, 1954-1974. The quilt has a sawtooth border in blue and white triangles. Beside each member's name is embroidered the year in which they joined. In the centre of the quilt is embroidered the crest of the W. I. and the motto "For Home and Country." At top is embroidered "Teviotdale W. I. / 1954 - May 1974."
