    White and blue cotton Signature Quilt dated circa 1925. Twenty-five white square blocks are pieced together with blue sashing. Each square has 25 names embroidered on it in light blue thread. In total, there are 625 names embroidered on the quilt.

  3. 2002.36.1 - Quilt, Autograph Quilt, Signature

    White cotton signature quilt with embroidered names in red. The quilt is dated to 1929. Made up of thirty square blocks arranged five across and six down. Names are grouped in lines of four; four groupings arranged diagonally at each corner and one grouping in the centre; plus the embroiderer's name. Solid white cotton backing. Quilting is done in white thead; criss-crossing diagonal lines creating a pattern of small squares or diamonds.

  4. 2009.19.1 - Quilt, Signature Quilt, Autograph

    Blue and white machine-pieced Signature Quilt hand-embroidered in blue with members of the Teviotdale Women's Institute, 1954-1974. The quilt has a sawtooth border in blue and white triangles. Beside each member's name is embroidered the year in which they joined. In the centre of the quilt is embroidered the crest of the W. I. and the motto "For Home and Country." At top is embroidered "Teviotdale W. I. / 1954 - May 1974."
