1984.38.53 - Sheet Sheet, Bed Sheet, Blanket Sheet, Flat

Large, thin, wool blanket sheet; natural-wool in colour with plaid design in colours dark blue and light blue; constructed of two lengths of woven fabric attached at a central seam; woven on a hand loom in a plain weave. The patterns of the two pieces of cloth do not match up along the centre seam.

1991.21.10 - Petticoat

A child's white petticoat made of cotton, circa 1870. It has a gathered waist and a side opening. The skirt has seventeen rows of machine-sewn tucking. The petticoat has machine-sewn eyelet embroidered lace sewn to the hem.

Wooden cradle (.01) with turned legs, spindles on all sides. Five wooden slats (.02 - .06) form the base of the cradle to support the mattress. Note: one slat is missing. Legs slide on and hold wooden rockers in place. Each corner decorated with turned wooden pieces.

A white linen petticoat with a back opening, circa 1870. The petticoat has three rows of hand embroidery and sixteen rows of tucking. The petticoat has lace on the hem.

A white cotton doll's bodice, circa 1870. It was originally the bodice of a christening gown. It has a wide frill on the neckline and the waistline. The frill has an embroidered design and is scalloped. The bodice is gathered at the neck and the waist. It has a tie at the back. The front panel of the bodice is embroidered. The bodice has puffed sleeves with scalloped embroidered edging.
