A hand-forged, wrought iron pot hook; the stem of the hook is square, but the part forming the hook has been flattened and widened. There is a loop at the top to which is attached four round flat links of chain.

Oblong trough which is rough hewn out of a piece of basswood. The trough ends have been chiseled on an angle. The bark is still on and has been tacked to the edge of the trough on one side, but has been broken back on the other.

Solid rectangular length of iron that tapers to a thin blade at each end creating an elongated diamond-shaped head. Short, round wooden handle (called a thrift) is inserted into eye of head and secured with a wedge; handle is natual wood in colour. Also known as a "mill bill". The head and top of handle have been overpainted black.
