Description |
A red and white machine sewn signature quilt made by "The Girls of Riverside Women's Institute" in 1918 (embroidered inscription on reverse of quilt). The quilt has six rows with five blocks across and a red cross appliqued in the centre of each square. Four rows of names are embroidered diagonally across each corner in red thread. It is quilted around the border of squares and on the edge of the cross. |

An inscription embroidered on the reverse of the quilt reads "Made by the Girls of Riverside Women's Institute, 1918". The quilt was made as a fundraiser for the war effort. |
