Provenance |
The gloves belonged to either Mary Barker Young (born 1819) or her daughters, Georgina (born 1856) or Clara Young (born 1861) of Fergus dated circa 1900. Mary was married to Thomas Young (born 1810) of Scotland in 1842 and they lived at "Stonehome" located at 555 St. David Street North in Fergus. The donor was given the item from her mother, who bought it at an auction sale in 1961. The Young home was later purchased by the donor in 1965. |
