Description |
Canadian Centennial stamp box (.01) that was donated with instruction sheet (.02), two order forms (.03-.04), original box (.04) and original mailing box (.05), each of which is stored in a separate location. The stamp box (.01) is rectangular in shape. It is made from dark grey plastic. It has a hinged lid which contains Centennial stamps displayed behind a clear plastic sheet on the top, and a description of the stamps on the underside of the lid. The lid hinges open to reveal one large compartment and two smaller compartments. The top of the box has an integrated cylindrical water reservoir and stamp roller. |

This Canadian Centennial Commemorative stamp box was purchased by Laura May McLelland (20 June 1916 - 26 June 2009) of Guelph in 1967 for $2.43. Laura was born in West Garafraxa Township on the 4th Line. Her parents were Albert and Phyllis McLelland. Laura sold her family farm in about 1934 to Clifford Louttit. She moved to Elora, then moved to 8 Durham Street in Guelph about two years later. She then moved to the Park Mall Apartment on Quebec Street in Guelph in 1989. She moved to the Wellington Terrace in 2008. |
