Hugh Templin, the donor's father-in-law, was the owner of the Fergus News Record as well as being a national representative for the Canadian Weekly Newspaper Association. He was sent to Moose Factory by the CWNA to cover their first election, in the early 1920s, and bought this model at that time. The kayak was given to the donor's husband, Peter, after Hugh's death. |
