Description |
A vanity case which originally held a mirror, hair brush, comb etc. It is made of a wood support with a celluoid overlay. It has a navy blue base with a raised scroll design. The hinged top is primarily green with a raised scroll design at each end. A large, yellowed image of a young girl in a wide brimmed hat covers the lid. The interior is lined with a pale green fabric. |

Given to donor's mother the former Kate McFadzean by her father Wm.J. Black of R.R. # 1 Grand Valley. Sometime before their marriage on February 23, 1909. "Vanity case held a set in ebony - black and much used - as I remember. Mirror in top. Brush comb, etc. Buffer in oval section." |
