Small white cotton bag, sewn down one side and across the bottom. Stamped in green "5lbs. Net Weight, Canada No. 1 / Eaton's of Canada / The T. Eaton Co. Limited, Toronto, Canada". The bag was also stamped "Mangel Seed" but this washed out when the donor washed the bag before donating. |

Belonged to Muriel Steeb's father, Frank Bertram Johnson (1903-1998). He farmed West 1/2 of Lot 8, Concession 9, Maryborough Twp. his entire life. Mangels were grown for pig, cattle and horse feed. It is a large, elongated root vegetable similar to a beet but light-coloured. |
