Provenance |
The plaque, made for the 2nd Fergus Boy Scout Troop, was never used for an annual patrol competition. The central motif of the two boys is an interesting depiction. It is dated to the 1960's. The donor's grandfather, Simeon Holman (d. 2001) was involved in Scouting in Fergus since its beginnings in 1928 when the 1st Fergus Troop was established. He was born and raised in Fergus. Simeon's son, Fred Holman (1928-2003) (and the donor's father) was born and raised in Fergus. Fred was involved in Scouting since the 1940s. He was a leader of the 1st Fergus Cubs, Scouts and Rovers. |
