Flag (.01) from the First Eden Mills Wolf Cubs attached to a two-piece wooden flag pole (.02 and .03) with brass wolf topper and gold tasseled cord (.04). The flag (.01) is rectangular, made from yellow wool with green wool felted letters spelling "1st Eden Mills" centered across the top in capital letters, and a green cotton wolf head applique at centre with motto "Do Your Best" in capital letters below, and "Wolf Cubs" in capital letters centered along the bottom of the flag. There are several moth holes on the surface of the flag and the felt lettering. The flag is attached to the top half of a wooden flag pole (.02) with a brass topper shaped like a wolf. The top flagpole section (.02) and bottom section (.03) are made from wood, with metal sections at either end. A gold-coloured cord (.04) with a tassel on each end is tied around the flag pole topper. |

This flag belonged to the First Eden Mills Wolf Cubs. It was used between 1973 and 1980. Lorna Tomlinson, Betty Marshall and Joan Chamberlain were Eden Mills residents involved with the Cubs during this time. The 1st Eden Mills Scout Troop was founded in 1959 with Tom Bould as its first Scout Master. In 1961, Jack Bould (father of Tom Bould) took over as Scout Master, with his other son Bob Bould as assistant. In 1973, the troop was re-formed by Bob Johns and Charlie Barnes. The 1st Eden Mills Cubs may have been founded at the same time as the Scout troop. |
