Emma Cripps (1856-1942) lived in Eramosa Township. From the book, "Here and There in Eramosa" by Frank Day: Emma Cripps "...lived at Crewson's Corners and was a daughter of Paul Cripps, the early settler on Lot 3, Concession 7, Eramosa, and connected with the family of Kribbs, the early millers of Eden Mills... Miss Emma Cripps was the writer of much choice poetry, now carefully preserved by the Wellington County Historical Society, poetry dealing chiefly with religious matters and the beauties of nature."
