Description |
A metal North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) badge dated circa 1958-1968. The border is a pattern that looks like light rays. An escutcheon shield is depicted in the middle, with a blue background, two yellow lightning bolts above a pair of white wings, and the wings are surrounding a sword (silver with red handle) and a green and yellow globe is behind the sword. On the back of the pin engraved is "New York". Three pins with butterfly clasps on rear. |

Belonged to Howard Wright who enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in 1941. He went to Colorado Springs after WWII for a NORAD posting. Howard was born in Kenilworth (L19WOSR). He married a woman named Madeline from the Eastern Townships. They met in Gander, and were both posted to Newfoundland. |
