Description |
Souvenir model of Beatty Bros "Pumper" Windmill, produced for International Plowing Match & Farm Machinery Show, held September 19-23, 2000 in Wellington County. The windmill has a tower with a square base, tapering to a point atop which is mounted a rotating wind blade and tail mechanism. There is a wooden platform at the top of the tower, below the blade and tail mechanism. Etched on one of the horizontal rungs of the tower is the number of the model, "2000/005". There is a ladder running up one side of the tower. One side of the tail bears the logo (black) of the IPM show, while the other has the logo for the County of Wellington. |

The souvenir model belonged to William Beirnes (born in 1927). He was Deputy Reeve of Wellington County (two years), Mayor of Fergus (nine years), and worked at GSW for forty-nine years as a stockkeeper. |
