Description |
Rectangular metal lapel pin (.01) with butterfly clasp (.02) dated 2017. The pin is gold tone, with the text "Award of Merit" across the top above the Family and Children's Services of Guelph and Wellington County name and logo. The text and border of the pin are raised and the field of the pin is textured. The reverse is stamped in a repeating diamond pattern. There is a straight pin in the centre near the top, with a shorter prong above to prevent the pin from rotating while worn on clothing. Also on the reverse near the bottom is the text "Made in Canada" below. Butterfly clasp (.02) has four pairs of raised square dots on the face. |

The Wellington County Museum and Archives received an Award of Merit from Family and Children's Services of Guelph and Wellington County in June 2017, in recognition of its commitment to preserving the history of child welfare in Guelph and Wellington County. The pin was accompanied by a certificate, catalogued separately as A2018.88. |
