Provenance |
The crazy quilt was made by the donor in 1988, after the death of her husband John McNab. The quilt has never been used. She and her husband farmed near Mount Forest and moved into the town when John became ill and couldn't farm. He worked in the casket factory in Mount Forest. They then lived in Kitchener for thirty years and then returned to Mount Forest where John died about 1988. Label: "Eulah McNab of Mount Forest used the remnants of her husband's neckties from the 1950s to create this polyester crazy quilt, circa 1990. She embellished the joins with a colourful variety of stitches and tied the quilt top to the backing with wool tufts." |
