Provenance |
The donors, Marion and Hannah Parkinson, were daughters of Lazarus Parkinson Jr. and Jane Tolton, daughter of Henry and first wife, Nancy (Smith). In 1881, Lazarus, Jane and family moved to Bruce Co. and farmed there. They returned to Eramosa Twp. in 1904 and farmed 200 acres at lot 15, conc. 1 & 2. Their children were Eleanor, Marion (donor), Hannah (donor), Henry and Stanley. Their grandfather, Henry Tolton, had two wives: Nancy Smith, their grandmother, and Eleanor Goble, their step-grandmother. This bookmark possibly belonged to Eleanor (Goble) Tolton as so many pieces in this collection belong to her. |
