Woman's off-white linen plain weave handkerchief. Square in shape and embellished with a 3.5 cm wide border of handcrafted drawn thread work; this border is set 3.5 cm in from the outer edge. Double cloth border is 3.5 cm wide with hemstitched corners. Handwritten in ink at centre of handkerchief are the initials "S M. F." [Sarah Matilda Freeman]. |
