The fountain pen belonged to the donor's grandfather, John Campbell (1813-1879). He came to Arthur Township in 1849 from Argyle, Scotland. John was married to Mary Campbell (1820-1889) in 1846. They lived on Lot 7, Concession 8 in Arthur Township. Their children were: Ann (Mrs. John Woodhouse), Mary, William (born 1861) and another daughter (Mrs. Alec McLaughlin). The donor's father, William Campbell inherited the farm. He married Effie in 1897. |
