Description |
A white coloured silk and nylon nightgown (.01) and a matching robe (.02) dated 1964. The short sleeved nightgown has lace trim around neck and around the edge of the ends of the sleeves. There is a blue stitching pattern at the top of the gown, along with white beads. The robe (.02) was worn to go over the nightgown, white in colour, also silk and nylon in material. There are two pearl like buttons at the top of the covering while the rest of it hangs. The sleeves are puffy and also contain the lace detail along the neck and around the edge of the ends of the sleeves. The blue stitching pattern and white beads also appear on the covering. |

The set was purchased from Reitman's store in the summer of 1964 (as part of Evelyn Robson's wedding trouseau). Ev and her husband, Wayne Robson were married on September 12, 1964. They were married at Teston United Church in Vaughan Twp. and moved in 1977 from Vaughan Twp. to a dairy farm in Wellington County on Lot 5, Concession 7 in West Garafraxa Twp. They farmed there for 20 years and in 1995 moved to the village of Belwood. |
