A navy blue and white enamel or "graniteware" saucepan (.01) with a removable lid (.02), circa 1900; side handle and movable bail wire handle. Bulbous pot. Wide lip on lid; top of lid is convex with central handle. |

The saucepan belonged to Katherine Agnes Cleghorn (1894-1985), the unmarried daughter of John Oliver Cleghorn (died in 1934) & Euphemia Derby. Katherine lived on Cleghorn Farm in Guelph Township. Katherine's grandfather was James Cleghorn. Katherine graduated from the Guelph General Hospital nursing program in 1931 and lived in Guelph for more than fifty years. She died in 1985, three weeks before her 91st birthday. Her brother was Douglas Cleghorn (1898-1970), who was the husband of the donor. |
