Provenance |
The apron was made by Marilyn Young's grandmother, Clara Robertson of Everton, circa 1935. It was shown at the Erin and Acton Fall Fairs. Marilyn's great-grandmother, grandmother and mother were all members of the Everton Women's Institute. The linked image has the brown floral dress (1976.84.375.03) with the apron. Marilyn gave us a magazine ad, 1937, which shows her great-grandmother, grandmother and mother wearing aprons they made. Clara (grandmother) is wearing the one donated to Museum and the one Pearl made was from the same pattern, so probably both aprons were made 1935-1937. (see gift form binder) |
