Description |
A large black electric x-ray machine (.01) on wheels. There is a control box, a pully, and a timer with a scale. The large wires lead out of the bottom of the control box. Attached to the silver coloured pole is the machanism which moves the camera up and down. The camera tapers back slightly and then molds into a cylinder. Please see blue card for extremely detailed description. Booklet (.02) gives instructions. Four black objects (cdef) apparently fit onto the front of the camera. At one time all had 2 U shaped catches at the back on each side. Only one of these objects now has both catches. |
Provenance |
The X-ray machine was purchased new by Palmerston General Hospital in 1940 and was operated by general duty nursing staff. It was replaced by another model in 1959, and replaced again upon the opening of the new Palmerston and District hospital in 1967. The hospital was first established in 1927. |
