Provenance |
Won by James (Jim) Parkinson (1887-1967) for showing his Lincoln sheep. Jim was born in Eramosa Township, Concession 1 (now Jones Baseline), Lot 13, west half. Jim raised and showed Lincoln sheep from 1905-1926, showing at the following fairs: Royal Winter Fair (Toronto), International Live Stock Exposition (Chicago), Ontario Provincial Winter Fair (Guelph), and Eastern Ontario Live Stock and Poultry Show (Ottawa). The Parkinson family farm remained in the family until 1974 when it was expropriated by the Grand River Conservation Authority for the Guelph Lake. |
