The bottom of the phone has a jack for the AC charger on the left side, and a USB port in the centre. The back of the phone, underneath the battery, lists the model number, FCC ID, IC and Serial numbers. The battery (.02) is released by sliding up a grey plastic tab on the back of the phone. It is a BTR8610 (8910BATAUD) lithium-ion battery manufactured by Audiovox Communications Corporation. It is a 3.7V, 1000mAh battery, with serial number DC041207VNK. It has three contacts which connect to contacts on the phone (.01). Beside the contacts on the battery (.02) is a circular window with a liquid contact indicator. The cellular telephone (.01) and its battery (.02) fit inside a black synthetic leather holster or case (.03) with a circular black plastic belt clip attachment on the back and a velcro tab that closes over the top of the case. The end of the tab has the Virgin Mobile logo in silver. The interior of the case is lined with black fabric. The case is constructed of two stiff panels (synthetic leather exterior, fabric interior, synthetic trim) that are connected by black elastic strips at the bottom and on either side (three elastic strips total). There is a black nylon loop on the back of the case above the belt clip, through which a green and gold metal carabiner (.04) is attached. |

Provenance |
Judith JUDE Dowling purchased this cellular phone on 12 March 2005 at Zellers. The purchase price was $159.97, or $183.97 with tax included. She used this phone until 2013 when she replaced it with an iPhone. Jude felt that this phone was overcomplicated compared to the iphone, and messages were often delayed for several hours. |
