Provenance |
John Stickney purchased the rocking chair at an auction. The chair was original to Dr. Abraham Groves' office. Dr. Groves (1847-1935) opened the Royal Alexandra Hospital of Fergus in 1902, which included a nursing school. After his death, the hospital was given to the town of Fergus and was renamed the Groves Memorial Community Hospital. |
