Provenance |
The ring belonged to the donor's sister, Margaret Paton Hyndman (1901-1991), 1918. She was born and raised in Palmerston and went to high school in Listowel. Margaret became a corporate and tax lawyer in Toronto. She was the second woman in the British Empire to become King's Council (1938), well-known for cases involving the status of women. Margaret received The Order of Canada in 1973. |
