Provenance |
The slates were used by the Gilchrist family of Puslinch Township. The slate (.01) was used by Margaret Gilchrist (nee Wilkinson) in 1845 at the Oramsaz School at Kantyre, Argyleshire, Scotland. The slate (.02) was used by her son John W. Gilchrist (born in 1865 and died in 1942) at the Killean School in Puslinch Township circa 1872-1882. Margaret was married to Peter Gilchrist (1828-1916) and they lived on Concession 1, North 1/2 of Lot 10 in Puslinch Township. |
