A woman's black hat made with a wire frame and a velvet headband. It is dated circa 1890. The hat is covered with sequins sewn to black net fabric. The brim is lined with chiffon. The crown of the hat is topped with an ostrich plume. |

The hat belonged to donor's mother, Sara Ann Bell Wooddisse Rolls, who was born July 30, 1869 and died Feb 22, 1961. She was born in Bowling Green, Ohio and lived on the sixth line in Maryborough Township, Moorefield. Her parents were Thomas and Jane Woodisse. Sara [Annie] married Edmund Rolls on February 12, 1896. |
