A small, ivory silk, purse (.06) with a metal frame and short chain handle. The body of the bag short with rounded sides and is embellished with small white and transparent glass beads. Ball clasp closure is adorned with two large white imitation pearls. Part of wedding ensemble: wedding dress (1992.48.1.02), hat (1992.48.1.03), and gloves (1992.48.1.05). |

Used on the wedding day of Doris (nee Liscumb) Strathopolous as part of her wedding ensemble. She married George Strathopolous on Oct. 7, 1953 in London, Ont. She was born in Fergus and lived her first sixteen years in Drayton. The dress was purchased at a local store. The bridesmaid wore a similar dress in blue. Their flowers were little roses and carnations dyed blue. |
