A khaki polycotton long-sleeved Scout shirt, circa 2000. Embroidered in blue over the left pocket is "Scouts Canada". Embroidered on a flash on the left shoulder is "Council Service Team" and "Scoutcraft II". On the left is a badge with "Wellington" embroidered on it. |

The shirt was worn by the donor as a Scout Leader, circa 2000. This type of shirt was worn from the mid-1980's to the present day by leaders of Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. The shirt was worn with a dark blue beret (2005.7.21). The donor's grandfather, Simeon Holman (d. 2001) was involved in Scouting in Fergus since its beginnings in 1928 when the 1st Fergus Troop was established. He was born and raised in Fergus. Simeon's son, Fred Holman (1928-2003) (and the donor's father) was born and raised in Fergus. Fred was involved in Scouting since the 1940s. He was a leader of the 1st Fergus Cubs, Scouts and Rovers. |
