Worn by a male member of the "Shamrock Squares" dance club, based in Erin. The club drew dancers primarily from Erin, Hillsburgh, Georgetown, Orangeville and Ballinafad areas. It was active from 1969 to 1978 and had about 100 members. Its official caller was Glen Halkaa, whose wife Donna was also a member. The pieces in this collection were originally compiled by the members Eleanor and Will McLean, who lived just south of Erin. |
