Victory Medal dated circa 1919. The medal is a circular bronze medal with a winged figure (Victory) holding a palm branch on the obverse, suspended from a watered silk ribbon with nine coloured stripes (purple, blue, green, yellow, red, yellow, green, blue, purple). This medal is mounted and framed with other items in this donation in a memorial display. |

This medal was issued to Cpl Albert Stanley Dickinson (1891-1918) who was killed in action during the First World War. Corporal Albert Stanley Dickinson, service number 928320, was born in Elora on 18 November 1892 to Daniel and Jennie Dickinson. He enlisted with the 153rd (Wellington) Battalion CEF on 1 January 1916. He was transferred to the 25th Reserve Battalion followed by the 18th Battalion in 1917, and then to the 8th Battalion. He was killed in action on 2 September 1918 in France. |
