Description |
A baby doll (.09) with a celluloid head and body and moveable joints. It has fixed eyes that are painted blue. It has a painted red mouth and painted nostrils. The doll has a dimple on the chin. It has hair and moulded features. The doll's neck is moveable. The doll is wearing a white cotton nightgown (.03) with full length sleeves and lace trim on the cuffs, yoke and high neck. On the back of the nightgown there are two button fasteners. The white cotton undershirt (.06) has white lace around the neck. Two pieces of thick white cotton thread are used for a closure. Stored in a separate location are doll undergarments (1975.98.2.04 and .08), nightwear (1975.98.2.05), dress (1975.98.2.01), romper (1975.98.2.02) and a blanket (1975.98.2.07). |

The doll and the doll clothing belonged to the donor as a child in Toronto, though she now resides in Fergus. It was brought from Germany from the donor's aunt circa 1912. |
