Description |
Small red and white canvas duffle bag used for school gym clothes. The bag has a rectangular base with a rounded top and sides. It is covered in a red canvas material. There is a silver zipper that goes along the top. Each seam is piped with white plastic, as well as along the zipper. There are curved short, white plastic covered handles on either side at the top of the bag. There are three round metal feet on the bottom, one is missing. The inside of the bag is lined in a brown plastic material with a rectangle of cardboard set inside the bottom. |

Belonged to Joanne Walter (nee Mallett). She attended Norwell District High School from September 1965 to June 1970. She played the bugle in the bugle band and brass band. Joanne lived in Wallace Township, lots 9 and 10. Her parents, Harold and Marie Mallett, operated Mallett's Poultry Farm and Hatchery, which was located outside of Palmerston on what was then, Highway 23. Gym bag - Purchased from the school. Since Joanne had to wear her cousins uniform, her mother let her buy the bag. Other classmates used bags that were homemade or made at home economics. |
