Description |
A pair of woman's off-white wedding shoes (.01 and .02) dated 1953. The uppers consist of crisscrossed straps with an open waist and toe; ankle strap and metal buckle closure. Both the straps and the wedge heels are covered in a brocade fabric, off-white in colour with a white and gold metallic thread floral pattern. The shoes match wedding dress 2017.6.11.05. |

Joyce Helen Fletcher (b. 1933 in Erin Township) married Donald [Don] Martin Blyth on Saturday May 23 in 1953 at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Guelph. Joyce purchased the dress for $132.50 on April 18, 1953 at Goudies Limited Department Store in Kitchener, Ontario. She bought the veil and headpiece for $11.90 in 1953 at Goudies Department Store. The flowers for their wedding cost $33.05 at James Gilchrist Estate Florist in downtown Guelph. Don and Joyce lived on Lots 21-22, Concession 3, Division D in Guelph Twp. |
