Description |
Wooden rod-back windsor chair with two stiles, four spindles and a curved slat crest rail. The chair has a flat seat and four splayed legs. There are two stretchers between the two front legs, and between the front and back legs on each side. There is only one stretcher between the two back legs. The text "PALMERSTON / TOWN / COUNCIL" is painted (stencilled) on the underside of the chair seat. Photographed with 2015.29.3. |

From the Palmerston Library, 265 Bell St., Palmerston. The Palmerston Branch building was constructed in 1903 and is one of five original Carnegie library buildings in the County of Wellington. In 2015, the County of Wellington renovated the Carnegie Library to upgrade accessibility needs and to refurbish staff and public use. |
